Went down to Atlas Tattoo yesterday for session 2 of 4 with Dan Gilsdorf for my left arm koi sleeve. I was there for a 12:30 appointment, but it turned out I wasn't scheduled until 4, so I goofed off in town for a while.

I'm very happy with how it's coming together, and so is the artist.

Here’s a quick side-by-side of the fresh lines and the fresh shading. The reddish shading is actually grey shading plus blood and bruising. Big fill areas like that leak.

next session in 3 weeks.

That so rocks! Love the "red" shading hard to picture it grey.
How was the filling and shading compared to the outline?

Filling hurts less for each individual stroke, but the artist is working on each area for longer. I could carry on a conversation the whole time through filling, which I couldn't at all for the outline, so I know that on balance it was less hurty. It seems to be healing up faster also, in terms of shock to my system & usefulness of arm & stuff.

It is looking SO nice - I can't wait to see it when it is done
